buy a new home? What is the overall impact on their financial well
being? The staff of Firstline is dedicated to resolve all issues for
the employee and the family.
The Relocation Consultant conducts the orchestration of
services. The Relocation Consultant is the single point of
responsibility accessible seven days a week. Whenever a face-to-face
meeting is not practicable, Firstline utilizes its pioneering video
conferencing consultation for relocation services. Orientation sessions
with the transferee can be conducted via video conferencing to
establish greater rapport and trust with the transferee undertaking the
relocation process.

cost. This can be in your office or ours, full or part time, your
choice of relocation service providers, or ours. You control the level

- Relocatee
counseling on the company relocation policy and benefits administration
insures understanding of benefits available, benefit limits, and
methods of delivery. A policy exception request process will be
defined and implemented.
- Area
Orientation counseling conducted to understand family needs,
quality-of-life and lifestyle issues, and to acquaint them with
the destination area. Recruitment candidates who must relocate
will also receive this service.
- Assist
homeowners in achieving timely sales and highest values.
Counselors will offer advocacy, and professional advice to prepare
the property for listing, to develop an aggressive marketing plan,
and to select a real estate agent.
- Extensive
Realtor qualifying, selection, training, and management services.
- Closing
services provide convenience and potential savings on gross-up.
- For
eligible Employees, a home sale guarantee buyout program offers a
safety net.
- Interim
and permanent housing search coordination for renters and home
buyers.
- Home
finding, mortgage, closing, and settling-in coordination.
- A
household goods transportation program for each Employee.
- Expense
management and tracking accomplished. Written and on-line status
reports, cost-of-living information, individual gross-up
calculations, and one-point billing provided.
- Coordination
and updating of all relocation policy and communication materials.
Tax Equalization/Gross-up Process
Firstline Mobility offers a comprehensive Employee expense
tracking and payroll gross up service with service delivery facilitated
by video conferencing and application sharing technology.
- Complete
tax planning and reporting for relocation expenditures are
available for federal, state and municipal tax districts.
- Firstline
tax experts deal with issues not always addressed by off the shelf
software packages. As an example, the Employee and Corporate
Client are advised on state tax reciprocity issues (Employee lives
in one state and works in another). Dates of residency in the
departure and destination states are fully explained and agreed
with the relocating Employee.
- Expense
tracking counseling plus submission of travel receipts and expense
vouchers are accomplished through Intel video conferencing. Using
Firstline installed equipment, scanned images of receipts and
approved vouchers are instantaneously transmitted for Firstline
processing.
- Tax
equalization and tax protection policies are fully supported by
Firstline Mobility for either international expatriates or
domestic transferees, if required.
- Lump sum
payments or direct reimbursement of Employee relocation expenses
is supported and tracked. All vouchers are tested for mathematical
accuracy and proper support with receipts. Requests for payments
are tested against corporate policy limits. Exceptions to policy
done only with corporate approval.
- Reimbursements
can be accomplished through electronic funds transfer, check
reimbursement, for third party or Employee payments. Payroll
inputs can be made for periodic Employee reimbursement.
- Gross up
calculations for relocation expenses reportable as Employee income
are input to corporate payroll on an annual basis. If condition of
under withholding exists, preliminary gross up calculations are
provided to avoid tax penalties for under withholding of taxes
due.
